Colmar was founded in 1923 by the entrepreneur Mario Columbo, who founded a factory to make felt hats in the Italian city of Monza.
The brand - whose name is a combination of Mario's first and last name quickly grew in popularity and after acouple of years they started making workwear that was used as ski clothing.

Sport
After developing and sponsoring athletes such as Gustavo Thoeni in the 1940s, they began to refine their materials and in the 1950s, Colmar began to design its garments with a greater focus on dominant trends in the fashion world.
This was a great success with style-conscious skiers.
The tight, tight-fitting ski fashion of the time was in some places very uncomfortable and impractical to wear, but Colmar revolutionized the market with the help of fabrics and features that made the garments functional, stylish and very comfortable.
